Yi and Steve in Frankenmuth, Michigan

In early August Yi called me from California. She needed lavender and green wedding flowers for her Michigan nuptials in less than a month! Here’s what we came up with together: bridal bouquet with bamboo branches, fern curls, Schwartzwalder mini callas, Amnesia roses, Eloquence spray roses, scabiosa pods, seeded eucalyptus, cymbidium orchids and scented geranium

Yi’s bouquet was a lush mix of bamboo branches, fern curls, Schwartzwalder mini callas, Amnesia roses, Eloquence spray roses, scabiosa pods, seeded eucalyptus, cymbidium orchids and scented geranium.

Unfortunately, Yi’s bouquet was the only thing I had time to photograph. The flower board I created for her describes the rest of the personal flowers.

Congratulations Yi and Steve!

Kori and Eric in Bloomfield Hills and Livonia

On August 1st I had a great wedding with a vibrant color scheme and an equally enthusiastic couple. Kori and Eric knew that they wanted something upbeat to match their personalities, and together we dreamed up a tiffany blue and pink color scheme.  The reception was held at the Italian American Banquet Center in Livonia. All of the planning paid off on the big day and the color scheme came together perfectly! The chair ties were an exact match for the vase and candle wraps.

There were three different centerpieces at the reception. The tall centerpieces doubled as altar arrangements. Then there were matching low centerpieces. The third centerpiece was made up of a cluster of tiffany blue candles surrounded by Hot Lady roses.

Here’s a peak at the planning process. The flower boards that we created are a nice reflection of the final product.

And here’s the board for the personal flowers… I can’t wait to see the pro-shots of Kori and Eric with their flowers!

Congratulations Kori and Eric! You were an absolute dream to work with!

***update***

Here are a couple photos I snagged off of Facebook. The first picture is of Kori and Eric in front of the Stone Chapel at St. Hugo of the Hills where they had their ceremony.

Don't Kori and Eric look absolutely amazing together?! Oh, and did I mention that Eric is a fire fighter? What an incredible prop for wedding photos!

Congratulations again!

Blue, Green, Orange and Copper

Last month I did some sketches and put together a board for a bride who wants to combine blue, green and orange for her wedding. It was a bit of a challenge, but I think I’m ready to tackle this wedding! blue, green, orange and copper wedding cake sketch

One of the sketches I came up with was for a cake. A simple cake with copper bands around the bottom of each layer is made extraordinary by elevating it with a floral ring and topping it with a matching copper urn.

The board describing the personal flowers looked like this. I love interesting color palettes, so I can’t wait to have the flowers in my hands for this wedding!
