Here is my entry for the coco+kelley Wedding Inspiration Board Contest. I generally focus on just flowers, so it was a nice change of pace to put together an inspiration board for an entire wedding! The whole board is based around just one room. Check out all of the other beautiful entries here. Also, be sure to check out coco+kelley all this week for wedding week!
Here is a little more information about my board. I've been in a vintage mood lately, and so have many of my brides. Soft, antiqued colors are really popular for next year. So I combined a vintage feel with the Martha Stewart neutral yellow room to create a "golden twenties" board.
The vintage 1923 wedding dress is the pièce de résistance of this wedding. After you've found a dress like this the key to modernizing and pulling-off this look is all about finding the right accessories. The earrings from Anthropologie were a great period-inspired find. The understated tiara and exquisite tasseled pearl necklace pull the whole look together. I found two amazing pairs of shoes (thanks to Janie Medley over at TBC). Each is pictured next to the gown I would put them with. By pairing some over the top items (for the bride: the dress, earrings and bouquet) with more subtle items (clean crisp hairstyle, headband and shoes) the look becomes updated vintage.
The Manolo Blahniks on the board would go with the bridesmaids' dresses. How could I not include these? They felt so flapper-inspired! I would finish their outfits with a small, round bouquet of garden roses and a sleek up-do.
